505 Special Topics in Economics (3) (Prerequisite: Eligibility for teacher
certification in social studies and a bachelor's degree or permission of school)
As Needed. Study of current economic problems. Topics will vary. Emphasis on
applying economic concepts to problems in the social sciences. Economics 505
and 600 are not part of the M.B.A. curriculum.
600 Survey of Contemporary Economics (3) (Prerequisite: Eligibility
for certification in social studies and bachelor's degree or permission of school)
As Needed. Study of microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts. Topics include
market function; price determination; income distribution; and the roles of
individuals, firms, and government in market economy. Also included are concepts
dealing with economic growth, inflation, unemployment, and banking with the
impact of governmental policy on the overall economy. Current issues are discussed
in terms of these concepts. Economics 505 and 600 are not part of the M.B.A.
curriculum.
710 Managerial Economics (3) S. Practical application of supply, demand,
costs, capital, and profit analysis to decision-making in a business enterprise.
Covers such topics as price policies, investment decisions, location analysis,
and forecasting.
720 The International Business Environment (3) SU. Major economic policy
issues as they pertain to business decision-making. Includes such topics as
monetary and fiscal policy, price-wage controls, economic growth, governmental
regulations and taxation, and multinational corporations.
