MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY OPTION

The Medical Technology Option in Biology offers students the choice of specialization in medical technology at the undergraduate level.

The Medical Technology Option will require the completion of recommended General Education courses, requirements for the student's biology major and required courses specific for the Medical Technology Option. The minimum number of semester hours in all courses (major and nonmajor) required for the Medical Technology Option in Biology is 120.

Following completion of the baccalaureate degree, students continue studies at a School of Medical Technology for a year of clinical training. Successful completion of an examination given by the National Association of Clinical Laboratory Science will qualify the student as a Medical Technologist.
