MODERN LANGUAGES - SPANISH TRACK

MAJOR
A major in Modern Languages - Spanish Track requires the following:
1. Twenty-seven semester hours above the 199 level, including SPAN
301, 302, and five courses above 302.
2. Minor/collateral requirements
a) two 12-hour collaterals approved by faculty the adviser, or
b) an 18-hour minor approved by the faculty adviser.
The minimum number of semester hours required in major courses
for a major in Modern Languages - Spanish Track is 33. The minimum
number of semester hours in all courses (major and nonmajor) required
for the major in Modern Languages - Spanish Track is 120.
MINOR
A minor in Spanish requires 18 semester hours above the 199 level.
COLLATERAL
A collateral in Spanish requires 12 semester hours above the 199
level.
A collateral in modern languages requires 12 semester hours including
the completion of 202 in two modern languages.
OTHER INFORMATION
Placement tests will be administered to all students with two or
more years of high school work in Spanish if Spanish is to be continued
at Francis Marion University. Credit will be given for each semester's
work exempted, including Spanish 101. A student may not take for
credit a course for which he/she has earned exemption credit but
may audit without special approval a course from which he/she has
been exempted.
A student may not repeat for credit a 100- or 200-level language
course once he/she has received credit for another course at a higher
level in the same language.
