COOPERATIVE PROGRAM OPTION
RN-BSN Track Campus Option
This program is designed for registered nurses with a diploma in
nursing or associate degree in nursing seeking a baccalaureate degree.
Registered nurses who have completed 60 semester hours of lower
division, prerequisite coursework prior to enrollment in the MUSC
College of Nursing are eligible for the program. No prerequisite
coursework is offered through MUSC; prerequisite coursework can
be earned at Francis Marion University or any regionally accredited
college or university. This program combines the educational resources
of Francis Marion University and the Medical University of South
Carolina on behalf of a segment of the State's population previously
not being served by a geographically available baccalaureate program
in nursing. The Satellite Program, as part of the undergraduate
program of the MUSC College of Nursing, meets the mission of improving
health outcomes of individuals, families, and communities through
education of professional nurses. All undergraduate program goals
and objectives of the Medical University of South Carolina, College
of Nursing are implemented as part of the curriculum. This baccalaureate
program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation
Commission and is approved by the South Carolina Department of Labor,
Licensing and Regulation Board of Nursing.
Prerequisite coursework will be accepted for transfer if the student
meets the minimum requirement and a grade of "C" or better
is earned. The RN-BSN track offered at the Francis Marion University
Satellite campus must be completed on a part-time basis; students
that require full-time study must complete coursework at the Charleston
campus. Coursework at the Francis Marion University satellite campus
is taught on site and clinical experiences are arranged in the Pee
Dee region of the State. Application deadline is June 1 for the
RN-BSN. On-line applications are available at http://www.musc.edu/es.
Program offerings are contingent upon acceptable enrollment.
