COOPERATIVE PROGRAMS

COOPERATIVE FOURTH-YEAR PROGRAMS

Selected undergraduate majors not yet part of the University curriculum are offered through cooperative arrangements with other institutions. For example, undergraduate study in the area of geography is made available through cooperation with the University of South Carolina. Upon completion of three years of work at Francis Marion University, participating students transfer to the campus of the anticipating college or university as transient students. (See "Transient Credit" in the Academic Information chapter.) Upon successful completion of approved degree requirements, participating students return to Francis Marion University, from which the baccalaureate degree is awarded. A student interested in this program should contact the Office of the Registrar for an application. To apply, students must have an overall grade point average of 2.0 or higher and a 2.0 grade point average or better in the major courses.

It is the student's responsibility to have grades reported to the Office of the Registrar in order to complete degree requirements. Students should be aware that all grades earned at the participating college or university will be counted in the computation of the grade point average and in the determination of University honors.

All Francis Marion University general education requirements are applicable for students enrolled in cooperative programs.

Students seeking specific information about courses offered by the University of South Carolina or other institutions where fourth-year work will be pursued should consult the latest catalog of that institution.
