UNDERGRADUATE ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATION

Francis Marion University offers developmental studies in English and mathematics. Developmental reading is offered through an arrangement with Florence-Darlington Technical College. The titles of these courses are English 100 and Reading 022.

Placement into developmental courses are determined by scores obtained through ACCUPLACER placement test scores. For information about placement tests, contact the Office of Counseling and Testing.

No student required to enroll in any of the developmental courses will be allowed to withdraw from these courses without totally withdrawing from the University. In addition, as a condition of remaining at Francis Marion University, students required to enroll in any of the developmental courses are required to complete the courses successfully by the end of the second academic session in which they are enrolled at the University.

Institutional credit will be given for developmental courses. They will not earn credit toward graduation.
